On May 21st the Vistamare and Rizziero Arte galleries inaugurate a project that involves twelve artists confronting the idea of the drawing. This is a series of events that will take place over a year, slowly modifying the rooms within the two galleries.

The first Rizziero Arte inauguration will present works by Wolfgang Laib and Enzo Cucchi: pencil and charcoal drawings will construct the space, creating an exhibition complete in itself but ready, at the same time, to welcome the energies of the artists who will, successively, add their own works to those already present. The same completeness which becomes, simultaneously, a desire to welcome in, animates the works by Massimo Bartolini and Ettore Spalletti, presented in one of the rooms of the Vistamare gallery: the environment will be entirely reconstructed by the artists with the idea of drawing the space rather than inserting drawings into the space.

Drawing is seen, therefore, as a reflection that, on encountering diverse sensibilities, takes, on each occasion, a different form.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue that brings together the names of the artists participating in the project and a text by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio. Over time the rooms will be enriched with and modified by the work of other artists, creating an interaction between the works present in the two galleries; therefore the spaces will, on each occasion, acquire a dimension both of the complete and of the incomplete, and the artists who participate in the project will be able to intervene freely within the two spaces, their own work cohabiting with the works already present.

May 21st also marks the presentation of the second edition of the magazine Parallelo 42, published by Giacinto di Pietrantonio and edited by Maria Antonella Firmani and Gaetano Di Francesco. The presentation will take place at 5:00pm at the Sala dei Marmi and will be entirely dedicated to Enzo Cucchi and Ettore Sottsass. The desire uniting these various manifestations is to create an energy capable of animating the city culturally; a desire that manifests itself in different locations and in different forms, united by a single ideal that expands in time and space.
